In November 2020, the Argentine president issued a decree that allows patients to grow their own plants at home for medicinal use.
The system of licenses will even enable patients who cannot grow cannabis themselves to delegate a close person. In addition, the government is setting up programs for professional education and research into medical cannabis.
Contrary to the vast majority of countries where medical cannabis is legal but patients are not allowed to grow their own medicine, Argentina has opted for a comprehensive approach where no one is disadvantaged.
