Prague will soon again become the centre of the cannabis world, but this time it will not be about medicinal use or the emergence of a regulated market for psychoactive THC – the groundbreaking international conference Hemp & Industry will focus on the cultivation of hemp as an agricultural crop and its industrial use for a range of innovative applications.
The event is organised by the Czech Hemp Cluster CzecHemp and promises interesting guests and discussions on topical issues. Seats are limited, so don’t hesitate to register and book October 16 and 17 in your calendars!
Panel discussions and matchmaking
The International Hemp & Industry Conference will take place at the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information (ÚZEI) in Prague’s Vinohrady. Our event is organised as part of the European HempClub project with the aim of developing the potential of hemp using new and traditional technologies and promoting sustainable bioeconomic transformation.
The conference is free of charge thanks to funding from the HempClub project.
The conference will be unique in several ways not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe. On Monday 16 October, four panel discussions will take place, during which renowned experts will present their work in short presentations. They will then discuss the latest trends in their respective fields.
“We have selected four main topics that we consider the most important today,” explains Hana Gabrielová, President of CzecHemp. “We will focus on the role of hemp in mitigating climate change and meeting the bioeconomy target, hemp seed as a superfood and source of important substances for health, the production of technical hemp for material self-sufficiency and the use of the plant for technological innovation.”
A networking dinner is planned after the first day of the conference. A B2B matchmaking session will then take place on Tuesday morning. This will offer all conference participants the opportunity to discuss potential joint business or research projects in person.
A stellar cast
“Among the first confirmed guests we have cannabis legends such as builder Steve Allin from Ireland, decarbonisation expert Nando Knodel from Germany and cultivation and processing expert Maciej Kowalski from Poland,” introduces the star speakers cluster manager Lukas Hurt. “Of course, there will also be Czech speakers, such as hemp seed experts Miloš Beran from VUPP or physician Pavel Kubů. The lineup is gradually filling up and we can assure all those interested that it will be really worth it.”
The event is organised as part of the European HempClub project with the aim of developing the potential of hemp using new and traditional technologies.
Admission to the conference is free thanks to funding from the HempClub project! Registration runs on this platform. Interested parties can register for the conference itself (all day on Monday and Tuesday morning at the premises of the IZEI) as well as for the paid networking dinner. Unfortunately, the number of places is very limited, so if you are seriously interested, please do not hesitate to register!
More information on the program will be added gradually both on the registration page and on the cluster website. This LinkedIn event has also been created for the event.
