Berlin, June 17, 2019. The largest cannabis expo in Germany, Mary Jane Berlin, takes place from 21 to 23 June 2019 in the ARENA Berlin. The main focus of this year’s expo is hemp products with the active ingredient CBD, which is said to have an analgesic and calming effect.
In Europe, no cannabis expo is growing as fast as the Mary Jane Berlin: With over 30,000 products and a total area of over 13,000 square meters, it is Germany’s largest cannabis trade fair and the most important platform on the subject.
More than 25,000 visitors and 250 national and international exhibitors are expected at this year’s three-day cannabis event in the ARENA Berlin – including product exhibition, congress and culture festival directly at the river Spree – a new record. “We have been fully booked out for months,” says Mary Jane Berlin Managing Director Duc Anh Dang. “The growth in comparison to the previous year is enormous with almost 25 percent in the exhibitor area.”
Thematically, it’s all about the future of the green power plant – as food, cosmetic, building material or medicine. Visitors can try out well known products as well as innovative new products, have a taste of them and above all, seek personal advice. The range of products includes CBD, hemp oil, fertilizer, snacks, vaporizers, dog food, textiles and smoking accessories. This year’s focus, with more than 75 exhibitors, will be on so-called CBD products, which reflect the current cannabis trend in Germany and which, due to their pain-relieving and calming effect, can be suitable for medical use.
The Mary Jane Berlin Festival has the largest outdoor area ever to be offered by a European cannabis expo, including two festival stages and a sand beach.
With the increasing interest of large foreign companies, Mary Jane Berlin also wants to offer German start-ups the opportunity to gain a foothold in the domestic market. On Saturday and Sunday, selected start-ups will be able to present their ideas to potential investors and customers in a short elevator pitch at the conference. Behind the busy trade fair events, industry prospects, retailers and manufacturers use the Mary Jane Berlin as a network and business platform. Over 1,500 business accreditations have already been registered.
National and international experts, physicians and politicians discuss cannabis cultivation, legalization developments and the medical use of cannabis at the trade fair congress. Especially the latter will be extensively illuminated this year by renowned physicians such as Dr. med. Franjo Grotenhermen, Dr. med. Knud Gastmeier and Dr. med. Eva Milz.
In addition, Prof. Dr. med. Justus Haucap will present a study commissioned by the German Hemp Association on how the German tax authorities could only take 2.66 billion euros annually through the legalization of cannabis. On the political podium are Dr. Kirsten Kappert-Gonther, MdB (Alliance 90 / The Greens), Niema Movassat, MdB (The Left) and Dr. med. Wieland Schinnenburg, MdB (FDP).
A special highlight of the Mary Jane Berlin will be a diverse cultural and entertainment program. The Mary Jane Berlin Festival has the largest outdoor area ever to be offered by a European cannabis expo: Two festival stages play live music and live acts, the street food area offers culinary (cannabis) highlights and a sand beach with an infinity pool in the river Spree provides a place to cool off in the hot summer days. Thus, the Mary Jane Berlin creates the most unique atmosphere at a cannabis expo, which was ever held.
